-vide for the Issue of Government Paper Currency" to

which is attached a memorandum by the Acting Colonial

Treasurer giving the objects and reasons of the Bill. In

this commection I have to refer Your Lordship to the

Secretary of State's Despatch No. 25 of the 30th. January,

1899, and the Governor's reply No. 92 of 14th. April, 1899,

and to forward also copies of the correspondence noted in

the annexed schedule, together with an extract from the

minutes of an Executive Council Meeting held on the 19th.

of last July at which this matter was discussed.
